Default Intake Manifold

I am rebuilding my GSR right now with 10.5 comp and omnipower valves that supposedly raise compression. 81.25 bore and Crane Stage 1 cams. Should i keep the GSR intake manifold or ditch for a single stage aftermarket one such as Blox/skunk2/Edelbrock. And if so what do you guys think i should get for this set up also your recommendations for throttlebodies

Depends on what you have in mind for tuning. If you are going to stick with stock P72 ecu then don't stray from the OE GSR IM.

Perfomer X + Omni TB would be nice. This IM is geared for more mid which is consistent with your cam choice.

What size TB would you recommend. And are the hondata gaskets a good choice? And do you think i should get the omni High Comp valves or normal

1. 68mm is works well.

2. Hondata or other heatsheild gasket works good. Reccomended by a tuner buddy of mine.

3. Supertech or Omni is good for vavles.

I’m running a Performer X IM and a Professional Products 68mm TB. Can’t beat that throttle body for the money.

Hi comp is good. Every bit helps. Also this is a very popular valve choice so re-sale value of the head would be more than if you had dished valves.

Very happy with the Performer-X. Though I think the 60mm is a bit much for the low-mid.

Thanks for the help. One last question tho.

How do you guys rate the Blox and Skunk2 manifolds? or other brands i havnt considered yet. It seems the Edelbrock is the more expensive than some. And Aquafina did you mean the 68mm is to big? What size do you recommend. Im trying to get the most performance while still keeping it streetable.

Quality alone Edelbrock is the best.

60mm is too big for my setup (low-mid range was hurt, topend gained). I have a D16 though.

I just rate the skunk2 manifold to be good because It's C.A.R.B. legal and here in California cops are lame.

you guys using the performer x, are you using it on the track or just as a daily driver? building a road race motor(gsr) and am torn between the aebs and the performer x, simply based on some of the info that the aebs is designed to line up with gsr ports better, but the performer x is a higher quality. ill be using CTR cams

I have the Performer X and I built my car with the intention to autocross, time attack, etc. (Since getting married, I haven’t actually done it though… ), it gave my motor an appreciable increase in power in the mid-range as well as at higher revs. No complaints from me.
