plugs got wet... now rough idle
my car was running excellent for the longest time then i noticed an oil leak. I decided to clean the motor so i could find out where the leak was.. like everyone else would do. well, thats where the problem began. i filled two spark plug tubes full of water and not knowing this i started it a took it for a drive. the car ran like **** and i soon found out about the water problem so i soaked up as much water as i could replaced the two spark plugs and drove it again. still had a rough idle, the car shakes and everything. so i changed the wires... problem is still there. what else could it be? Its a 1996 se. recent tune up.
I would say just because you noticed the water in the spark plug tubes that doesn't mean that is the source of your problem.
Did you cover all electrical connections under the hood? If not, anyone of them could have been soaked.
Typically even if something does get wet until there, it will dry out sooner or later and be just fine. Is the car throwing a CEL?

no cel's and the two plug tubes were completly filled with water. i was my motor everytime i wash my car and have never had this problem. i dont use a pressurewasher either. i really dont think anyting else could be my problem. could i have messed up my coil some how?
