i have a JDM H22 with a cracked distributor cap. i already found out the USDM 92-95 caps dont work. But i heard that the 94-95 Accord EX cap will work. Is this true?

also since ive installed the swap my vtec never substanstially engages to the point where im satisfied. my vtec never engages like my friends 01 prelude. is this normal for JDM H22's or is there something wrong with my solenoid or some other issue?
