MAIN RELAY HELP!!!
hey guys, im pretty familar with faulty main relays, they lose their solder connections.i have actually soldered a few of the pins on this one before, but now i get in the car, cold or hot, (a lot of times it just wont work when hot) and it will turn over a time or 2 then after that when i turn the ignition i get this low funny inconsistant buzzish noise coming from the main relay.
i pulled it out and none of the solders have cracked pins or anything, and when i turn the key the engine light comes on, but goes off like its supposed to???\
if there is no fix for this, where is the cheapest place to get a main relay? and what cars can i pull it from/interchangeable
ps i thought i rem hearing about a place online that sells refurbished ones for cheap
any help is appreciated

I don't understand how someone can be so broke that they look for a used or refurbished relay. I have a brand new OEM one I got for $40. I'd rather have a new one than a potential headache.
Just install a new one.

check your grounds and check the fuses in the engine bay. i had this same problem after multiple oem relays and it turned out to be a fuse under my hood or it could have been a ground, i did both with out turning the car on so i could not pin point the problem, but one or the other worked for me.
thats right you dont understand. so dont make assumptions. and congratulations of the dumbest comment of the week award. i didnt ask which would be better i asked for peoples help. half the **** you buy and think is new, IS refurbished. why do you think you turn in cores on starters, alternators etc...
do what you do
also thanks for everyone elses help. its appreciated, zccrx which relay under the hood was it?

I agree. I bought a new Honda main relay for the same price. I don't screw around with attempting to fix burnt up electrical parts. If you really want cheap, go to a junk yard and jack one.

u can jump the 2 "outputs" (yellow wires with black stripes) on the main relay to igniton power input (black wire with yellow stripe) on the main relay and see if that runs the car after u crank it and all. all this does is bypass the relays in the main relay and u manually send power to the things the main relay powers up (fuel pump and injectors basically)...
