P73 + Knock Sensor + LS VTEC = YES or NO?
I'm installing an LS VTEC into my Integra (OBDII) and running a P73. Does this ECU have to see a knock sensor to correctly operate?
I have aftermarket 12.1:1 pistons and I was told that the sound of the pistons will trick the knock sensor into thinking there's detonation. True or false?

Yes a p73 looks for knock. The piston's won't trick anything. If you in fact have detonation your knock sensor will possibly pick it up (bseries knock sensors kinda suck).
The best solution would be to use a chipped obd1 vtec ecu for your setup

Try HASPORT.COM!!! You need the OBD 1 knock sensor/VTEC solenoid subharness. It costs about 104 dollars 2 day air from Cali. shipping included. this will send you everything you need to wire knock and VTEC up from your OBD 1 ECM to the engine. it installs like a foctory harness. the only wire in you will physically have to do is at the ecm connector pins. I would reccomend the use of an OBDv 1 ECM as a side note. you can find one of the best ECM pinouts for your ECM connector at Technet.ff-squad.com good luck.
