Default High Idle 93 del sol s- need help

I just got this del Sol about 2 months ago. Everything is completely stock. When the engine starts (a/c off) it generally idles at about 2000 rpms. It fluctuates between there and 1500 and some times even goes higher than 2. When i turn the a/c on the idle goes down to about 1100 and stays there. That still seems kind of high but i dont really know. And since its summer i have the a/c on all the time anyway which seems like it fixes my problem. However when winter comes i'll want to be riding topless with no a/c on. And then i dont want my engine to idle that high because i cant imagine i will have good gas mileage. (i live in Phoenix, AZ so i idle at stop signs ALOT)

So anyway i hope that didnt sound like i was rambling. Does anyone have a similar issue? Any things i should check? (Plugs, Plug wires, loose hoses, etc.) if you need any more details feel free to ask.

Thanks in advance.

probably one of your vacuum lines is split or broken or fallen off, check em all.

Okay im going to admit right now that i have no idea what i'm looking for. But it looks to me that any lines or hoses that are present are connected correctly. How ever i did see a clip that looks like it should be holding a hose of some sort. but there is no hose present. I took a pick of the clip just incase it has anything to do with anything. It's the clip sticking out of the side of the IM (dead center of the pic)

If not can anyone point me in the direction of some instructions on checking vacuum lines? Im only 17 and i have limited knowledge about engines. If you feel im not capable of diagnosing this problem feel free to tell me (nicely please lol) and i will take the car to someone more qualified haha.

heres the pic:

Any more help or suggestions would be great. Thanks

that clip is there to hold the power steering hose if you have no power steering then no need to worry bout it. Your idle problem could me a bad sensor most likely your throttle positioning sensor (TPS). hope this helps

is it only doing it when the engine is cold?? if so, every single sol i have ever seen does this (including mine) it idles high for a min or so and then drops down when it warms up... im not sure if you meant it does it when its cold or ALL the time but thats my 2 cents. good luck bro

with the engine idling, pump like crazy on the brake pedal, see if the rpm's go up or down and get back to us.

wow i think i might be buying this car? test drove a black del sol in phx, AZ. had the same idle problem. stays a 2k, when i turn on a/c drops a little. other than that, it idle searches pretty consistently. i hope it is an easy fix like IACV or TPS
