Default Anyone painted stock rims?

Until I get some decent rims, I figure I can get cheap wheel covers for $15, or $15 worth of spray paint and paint my stock rims.

Has anyone painted theirs and had it look ok? I'm thinking painting the stock rims might look kind of red-neck, but maybe it will be ok. Anyone have pics?

Yeah, that thread is pretty good. I'm wondering about stock, as in steel rims, the one's you put hub caps on. I think there is one pic in that thread of painted steel rims but they arent' even on the car, so I can't get a good idea of what it would look like.

I'm wondering if anyone has done this, paint steel rims, and have it look ok. Maybe I will have to do it now just to see.

This is what I'm talking about

I'm thinking some Duplicolor silver wheel paint. I'm thinking if I paint it it will still look crappy, just silver. Anyway, if anyone has any pics, lets see how they look.

IMO, if you paint them just paint them back to black since those have some rust on them. But that's just my opinion

For those type of wheels, any color besides black will look dumb and ricey (IMO).

Make sure you follow the instructions in the link below.

I agree, black would probably look best. I'm curious to see how it would look if it was gunmetal or dark silver, so maybe I will try that too and post some pics.

I just took my hubcaps and had them sand blasted at school. I just painted it with some spray paint (a nice silver) came out nice. I should have used a primmer but oh well

If you do it right, it will look pretty good.

This is dfaulkner's (from HondaSociety) wagon. Looks pretty good IMO. Here's the link to the thread.

If you take the time to prep and have prolly bout 100$ to spend for everything it could turn out real nice. Patients is the key, along with preparation!!!
