unusual idle
I have a 01 ls with 140k original engine.timing belt and everything else just done like 4 months ago. Everything in the engine is fine..i hope... but after i start the car from cold. it idles at like 13 to 15 hundred..then warms up and it some times idles at 800 but sometimes it dips down to and between 400 and like 550..any ideas on what this might be.like i said the problem is somewhat but not totally intermittent.thanks
i took off what i believe is the iacv. located directly behind the intake manifold, mounted to the manifold after the tb. 2 12mm bolts 2 coolant lines i assume in and out,and 2 phillips head screws.i pulled it off saw the screen on one of the ports had alot of residue, scraped the residue, the 2 phillips head screws will not come off without stripping them. Ill probably get a junk yard one and see if i can get its screws off and do that. if i pnp my intake manifold. how long can i run it until i can afford to pnp the head?
Yes, the IACV is directly on the back of the Intake Manifold, and the FITV is located under the throttle body on the left underside of the manifold.

I would wait on the pNp for your intake manifold until you have the funds to do the same with your head. Your really not going to gain much with out the supporting modifications, and a decent tune. To me it would be worthless to do so.
