3rd gen carburetor help
Hey guys, I'm having a little trouble with my third gen Prelude. I'm 90% sure that it's the carburetor (already did the easy possibility of spark plugs). When the engine is cold (in the morning or when I leave work), it will jump right up to around 1500 rpms but then die right away. I need to give it gas for 20-30 seconds to maintain 1500 before it can support itself. So, it seems that the choke is dead to me. This is for a 1989 Prelude 2.0S (obviously carbureted). I was told that the choke on these is some sort of wax thing, and that the whole carburetor needs to be replaced. What do you guys think? Is this the case? Can I only replace the wax thing? Is this even the problem? And where could I find these parts? I can't find anything. Ugh. And Majestic wants a lot of money for a carb. Thanks in advance.
