Timing belt broken what to do??

Default Timing belt broken what to do??

What to do when timing belt brokes and damage two valve.one intake and one exhaust. Help please

Take the head off and look at the damage (or post pics).Valves obviously need to be replaced and pistons might be messed up to since they hit the valves. Depending on the motor that you have you have it might be cheaper to buy a used head/block then to repair yours.

if the valves are bent from the timing belt breaking then the piston hit the valves otherwise they wouldnt be bent so 99.99% of the time there is damage to the pistons. so just a head and timing belt wouldnt cut it. if its a sohc you can get one for a couple hundred dollars not worth the time or money in taking the head off putting new piston and replacing everything if you don't plan on having a built motor

The 5E-FE is a non-interference engine.

I put a new one on when my timing belt broke on my Tercel :D. Gotta love 'em.

@ OP:
As others have said, look at ur pistons, if they're fine you just need a new head, or replace the valves (really ur call depending on the damage). Though the guides are probably bent too so it'd probably be cheaper just to get a new head.
