ok folks, here it is. I"m tired of busting my *** day in and day out doing what you as members have asked to be done. I wanna know what "WE" as mods are doing wrong in your eyes. i just kinda want idea's. everyone seems to be bitching all the time about stuff we are doing wrong about posts here and there and this and that. you said you wanted pic posts to be in appearance, well i put them there. I left that one big post so people would stop asking about pics of everyones car. I don't want 30 individual " look at my car posts" this is the tech forum, not the car and driver forum. I have been moving and FS and WTB, WTT posts to classified's so it doesn't jumble up this forum just like some of you asked. You the people as members of this forum asked for certain things, we gave that to you and people still bitch. We understand we can't make everyone happy but I as a mod am trying to deal with these complaints and i am fed up with it to be honest. Now you people need to figure out what you want to change around here so this bitching can stop. i'm tired of hearing about it and i'm sure some of you are tired of trying to talk about it. We will not change the rules about : the classifieds stuff, and the pics stuff.


Feel free to post whatever, just understand our position.

I feel the problem isn't the mods, members just need to be educated on how to better use the system.

If you have some thing to sell, buy, or trade, put it in classifieds. If it's an ef specific item and you're worried about it getting burried, put a link to the add in your signature. If you want people to see pics of your car, again, put a link in your sig. Then when you're HELPFULLY answering tech questions, or asking your own, (not just post whoring) you'll be advertising at the same time. Like I'm doing with my siggy right now (ok, maybe I'm post whoring just a little)

Also, Instead of whining about search not working right, be pro-active about it when you create a new topic. From what I can tell, the search engine uses the title of the thread, not the content. So when you start a new thread, instead of just saying "I need help" be specific and get as many key words in the title as possible. that will make it easier for some one in the future that has the same problem.

If everyone just does a few simple things, this board would be a lot more user friendly for everyone, and the mods job would be much easier.

and if fs/wtb posts are being moved to classifieds and pic posts are being moved to appearance can we move the stupid posts that start to look like msn conversations to members corner or something like that. that sheit doesnt belong here imo. thats what pm's, msn, email, etc is for


id also suggest more bans of the people who only come in here to stir up trouble... ie those who contribute nothing to a question other than to say this or that is rice or this or that is ugly

well as a mod, you and mario are both going to be subject to scrutiny. there are more of us than there are of you and we all have differing opinions on what should be done with a certain thread.

basically you just have to get used to the bitching as it will really never stop...unfortunately.

 

This is prolly the best board ive been on, its nice and simple, doesnt take long to load, many posts on each page, etc., etc.
But one thing is, when newcomers come to this site, they dont understand civic ek, eg, ef, bla bla. And they post their 97hatchback problems here. It'd be much better imho if it was like 85-91civic/crx. Its plain and simple to read, but you guys are doing a great job as it is, .

 

tru dhat. I'm also very tired of seeing too many "check out my car" kinda post. I signed up on this form because it has a lot of people who know what their doing and because it's Honda-tech <U></U> form..... not just another hondaclub site or whatever. Please help keep this form clean and on track to it's orginal intent of the creators. Honda-tech rules

this is the best forum i have been so far.
all this smartasses questions are always going to be around, but we can control the amount of them...
in my opinion i dont care answering anybodys questioins.. . search not always gives u a result....
but we need more cooperation from all of us....
and keep in mind this is a TECH forum!!!!!

 

what i want to know is, why don't any of the other forums have problems like this one? sometimes i think you mods are too strict. the contributors of the other forums on this board NEVER complain about posting or the rules...just this one. sometimes i think you guys should just go with the flow.

and pertaining to FS and WTB posts in THIS forum, i like the idea of posting in the year specific forum, more people will be able to see and help others out. that damn classified forum is a crock, **** gets pushed back 3 pages in 10 minutes.

i like the way that this thread is run, the junk threads are quickly locked, the one large pic post was a good idea. i agree with the guy however about the classifieds, the threads move so quick on that forum its almost impossible to use. but i do frequent other forums as well as this one, and i have to say that this one is way better than most, you bunch of guys/gals are much nicer than most, and the mods do a good job of ruling with an iron fist(j/k)
