Just want some clean sound
Ok for the 97 integra LS COUPE what size are the front and rears? I just got a kenwood mp3 head unit and i have the stock speakers. Might go infinity kappas for the front and rear. What size should i go for the perfect fitment for front and rear? Also would I need to get a 4 channel amp or no? I don't really care about my sound system. I just want something better than the stock speakers because they get distorted when i turn the volume up to 20 which sucks.
just changing the speakers will help a ton. Kappas are good, so are Alpine Type-Rs or Type-S's if you don't want to spend that much.
On a DC you got 6.5's up front and 6x9's in the back. GL

The first thing I would do, [if not already done] is upgrade the current supply to the new high power HU, the stock constant power and ground can not supply the current your HU needs.
Start by running a fused 12ga power wire from the batt. to behind the HU, connect the HUs constant power, [yellow] to the 12ga, don't forget to cap off the stock constant power, if you used a harness adapter you can just remove the yellow constant power lead.
Next you need to beef up the ground, leave the HUs ground connected to the stock ground and add a 12ga chassis to chassis ground, or use a metal back support from the HU to the stock rear support brace, [kill two birds with one stone, ground the HU chassis and support the back of the HU]
Do the above and you will notice a big improvement in SQ and SPL, even with the stock speakers.
As mentioned, replacing the speakers will improve SQ also, although If I remember right on the 97 Integra coup the front speakers are 5.25" and the rears are a standard 6.5", [pretty sure they did not go into a 6x9 in the rear until 98].
Although the fronts are 5.25" a standard 6.5" will fit, [speaker housing was made to fit both].
An off-board 4ch amp will also improve SQ and SPL, and if used the power and ground upgrades are not needed for the HU as the internal amp will no longer be used, there are other advantages when using an off-board amp.
The Infinity Kappa speakers are pretty good, although not a standard 6.5" speaker they do come with "adapter" plates so most models can be mounted without mods, [mounting depth may be an issue with some models].
With that said I would recommend the Eclipse SP6510... http://www.eclipse-web.com/point/sp6910_6510.html the will work well with the HUs internal amp and very well, including very good bass extension, with a 4x75W RMS into 4 ohm amp.
