Apexi Neo CG6
ok so i just got my new neo installed in my accord ... im new at this so can anyone tell me why sometimes when my vtec engages, the car revs like if its hitting a rev limiter ... the thing that confuses me the most is that it doesnt always do it
i dont think so ... i had it installed by my friends buddy ... hes a really smart guy he even soldered the neo to my ecu harness ... but everyone makes mistakes ... i really hope not because he lives 50 miles from here

I know with the VAFC at least you have some very specific instructions as to how to install it and what order the wires go (some get soldered at separate points on the ground wire for instance) and if it's not perfect it could mess it up.

the thing is that it doesnt always do it ... when it does i shut the car off while rolling ... turn it back on ... and its gone ... maybe bad vtec setting somewhere? ... i was thinkin maybe my bad o2 sensor but it didnt do that before the neo

anybody got any ideas ... i just threw 200 in the trash for that o2 ... i have an extra cat from my old '99 accord im going to try ... anyone have any other ideas why im getting a p0420 code that wont let my vtec engage through my neo?
ok not that anyone cares ... [obviously] ... but i changed my cat [it did take a crap] but im still getting a CEL ... im going to scan it again tomorrow and see if im getting the same code ... ive also heard that OBDII you MUST reset the code with the scanner ... you cant just kill the battery to reset it ... is that true?
oh yea i forgot to post that i got the problem fixed, yes bad install ... good call ... my guy wired it as if it was for an ex ... i have a ex ulev ... the harness's are different ... its running real good but im still getting p0420 CEL ...

the neo is the new S-AFC/V-AFC from apexi ... its both in one ... out of all my upgrades [i have bolt-ons only] its made the biggest difference out of all of them ... well i would say go to autozone and ask them to use a obdII scanner but crybaby mechanics are the reason they cant lend them out anymore ...

Figured it'd be a bad install with it. Maybe try throwing in a defouler on the O2 sensor? It's like $5

So a New is like computer upgrade? i dont have a ulev vtec motor i just have the simple 2.3 vtec motor whats good for me?, i just ordered an aem intake [:
its like a piggyback for your stock ecu ... you can use it to tune ur car [to a certain degree] and to control your vtec engage point ... you dont have to have a ulev vtec ... it will work for all vtec's except i-vtec ... did you get a aem short ram or cold air?
i got the Aem Short Ram i finally got it but i need something to hold it together by the batter , the bolt i have is too long and doesnt tie it down all the way. ill post a pic because i dont know what to fill in the gap with. Its anodized blue and it looks pretty clean. When V-tec engages it sound really loud around 4.5 RPM's. hmm how much is a Neo ???
it depends where you buy it from ... i got mine through my buddys shop for $370 but i think it retails for about $460 ... i could have gotten it cheaper on ebay but i didnt want to risk getting one from the "grey market" ...
