That last part threw me..... why should it matter? If you ever have the faintest opportunity to EASILY change your timing belt, you should. They're not expensive enough to pass up when it will save you from a 6 hour job down the road.

As for the swap, as long as you use everything associated with the F22B (axles, harness, ecu, etc.) you won't have a problem. A pull and drop job

ok both motors are SOHCs.

93 honda accord body, stock f22a non vtec sohc in it right now.

i have a f22b vtec sohc waiting to go in. Are these two motors pretty much the same? If not what problems am i going to have trying to put this motor into this year accord

I believe there are 2 extra wires that you have to run. One for VTEC of course and the other I don't remember. You will have to get yourself a B1 ecu as well. This will vary depending on your tranny. MT or AT?

i did thios swap last year i used the f22b motor(of course) f22a intake mani and the alternator pulleys are slightly off but can be changes quite easily...also the p/s lines are different and you will need to use the p/s assembly and pump from the f22a

the intake manifold took a little shaving to get around the vtec soldinoid and as for the distributor i used the one that came on the f22b and just fused the coil wires together(havent had trouble with it at all)...i mean i guess you can use the f22b intake mani but it would probably require alot more wiring
