i had a sony xplod head unit which use to give out AMAZING bass. After 5 years, it finally crapped out on me last week.

i bought an alpine 9852 off my buddy, but i cant figure out how to make the bass hit as hard as the sony did. seems like the rear speakers are trying to hit harder than the sub is. i mess with the bass engine and other features, but the sound just gets distorted.

any suggestions?

Maybe the problem was not the HU, [does not sound like it] maybe the problem is the sub or the sub amp. 94

 

with a screw fix the bass on the amp it says bass eq, subsonic, etc... move those around until you like how it sounds then just leave it as you like.

One question, have you turned on the sub output, in the setup menu?

 

yeah. ive messed with every setting on the unit. guess i have to mess with the amp.
