90 Si - Speed Sensor?
As I said, I have a 90 Si B21A1. I have read about the speedometer bouncing in older preludes but mine appears to do the same thing, then quit working? I let the car sit, come back out and it works for a bit then dies? I know it's wiring to the speed sensor, but why does it work then stop? I bought a used speed sensor but only want to change it as a last resort (due to position on tranny.) Does anyone know of a good way to troubleshoot this problem? Thanks

Werid, you live in a city with the same name, just different state. Well I guess there also is a Bellevue mental insitute (sp?).

Thanks except that post is for the 88 & 89 Si's. I have a speed sensor mounted on the transmission, with wires running to the instrument cluster. Am I to assume you dropped a B20 into your 90 prelude? What did it take and how long? It is going to cost me around 4500 to drop a refurbished B21A1 in mine, and thats alot of mula.

Oh, my bad, didn't realize it was for 88 model.
It cost me a total of $3,200 - Engine, (w/ less than 50K miles) OEM clutch, oil pan, ALL gaskets replaced, ALL new belts, water pump, tune-up, and labor.
I am running the B21A1 ECU, intake manifold, and t/b. They're interchangable.
