LATE NIGHT BUMP........I MEAN WHEN I JUST TURN IT ON IT REVS PERFECTLY OVER BUT AS SOON AS THAT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HITS ITS ON DOWNHILL AFTER THAT AND I JUST REPLACED THE DISTRIBUTOR
would a Bad dizzy be the cause of it throwin a code 4 cuz i mean it revs fine for the first 2 times when u just start it then right after check engine light comes on and code 4 appears and cant go over 3.5k
hear me out... my car threw the same codes and went into limp mode. it ran like a miss and i took off the plug wires one by one. found my dead cyl. changed the injector and all was good.worth a try.
it usually wont go into limp mode unless your map sensor comes disconected from vacuum. set your tps, and replace your distributor. If you have already replaced the distributor, then go ahead and unplug the ecu for about a minnute then plug it back in to reset it. Or take both of the battery cables off of the battery and touch them together. that will get rid of any electricity in the system very quickly.

Sounds like you are in LIMP MODE. If your ECU detects a fatal error, it will put the car in LIMP mode to protect the engine. Your best bet is to invest in a Factory Service manual. It'll cost a little more than a Haynes or Chilton's, but it will go into much more detail.
