I'm looking for aftermarket valve keepers to use in my b20vtec build. I plan on using stock valves for the time being...
I've heard crower and some other companies make them, but I can not find anything.
Anyone know?

I have used OEM keepers on both Farrera (sp) and Manly both with Crower retainers.
OEM is all you need.
As far as I know we're going to use OEM on the Hot Rod engine. I'll ask rota92 next time I see him.

you certainly cannot use a stock keeper with the Ferrea retainer, there retainer is set up for there keeper only, and is longer then the factory lock to take pressure away from the valve tip..You CAN use a factory keeper with any of the other mentioned brands, but we don't..especially with boost. The valve can sometimes pull through the retainer, crowers are actually the biggest offender of that!

The 10 degree locks you are seeing a link for with Crower is there domestic lock. Honda is a 7 degree lock..and yes, you can use the Manley with the factory valve.

OK OP why don't you use OEM keepers ? Your using OEM valves?
Why do you want after market keepers?
I must be missing something.
We ran Crower retainers and springs with both Ferrera and Manly valves with on issues. engine was spinning to 9500rpm. That was on a D series.

from what i gather, the oem ones are stamped peices while the manleys are machined for less size variation. i dont know wether the ti-retainer holes are slightly bigger or if some titanium is soft [why they sometimes pull through]. maybe head will chime back in to shed some light.
i went with crower chrome-moly retainers and manley locks on my n/a setup. there only 60$ for all 16 valves its cheap insurance.

A sponsor has supertech springs, AL retainers nad keepers for $289 shipped. What do you think of AL retainers on a B20V that'll spin to 8600, maybe 9000?

Dropped valves are becoming common for some reason on all most all builds around here. I dont know whats up and I Dont want to fall victim to it. So I figure while everything is still in the planning stages, might was well do some research to see if I can combat valve train failure.

The Supertec Al retainers require the 10 degree. They also have the 7 degree, that fits there Ti. retainers and stock retainers. Sort that seller out.

Supertec, but if you read the entire thread you would've saw where I asked for feedback on aluminum and titanium retainers.
Do you have feedback on that subject?
