And what the hell is so "sport" about the injection in the SI?

I'm going to have to go with that they don't stand for any set of words. If they really meant what is stated above, why call the same car different names in different countries (EX, Si; Si, VTi, SiR; etc.)?

Plus many of the meanings seem stretched to me.

LOL, I don't think that there is a serious post in this thread NOFX (except for the Si comments).

I would have to agree with you, I don't think EX, DX, CX etc. really stands for/abreviates anything.

It actually stands for Sport Injection. Back in 1985 (and 86 for some models), the only way to get fuel injection on a Honda was to get an Si model, ie: Prelude 2.0Si, CRX Si, Civic Si, (Or LX-i for the Accords). That changed in the late 80s but Si still stands for Sport Injection.

EX doesn't stand for anything. It's simply a trim level with more **** on it than the CX, VX, DX and LX models.

Of course. But it's not nearly as much fun as sitting here all day trying to think of awkward things they might mean.

In that case, it stands for EXtraordinary.

It doesn't mean anything.

Every car has trims, Corolla DX, Tercel CE, think there's a "DE" somewhere in there - they're just trim codes.

On the flip side:

LoL!

That one made me laugh out loud.

@ OP:
EX Stands for what your girlfriend will be when you start loving the car more than her.
