Towing vehicle 200 miles.
Hey guys, I am moving in a month, 200 miles north. What is the best way to tow my car up there? I definately don't want to drag it all the way, and I don't have a lot of cash to spend. My g/f has AAA, so I have been thinking that that would be my best option. Thanks.

well, Ill need to put new tires on the rear if I tow dolley it, plus I kinda wanted to keep it off the ground so I don't get any rock chips, its a flawless fresh paint job.

if the rears are gnarly, swap the fronts and the rears over?

could you put a car cover on it after its hooked up to the tow dolley???
It may fly off though.. but then again looks like your running outa options.
I dont think you will get any rock chips since the front end will be up in the air.. if any rocks head that way they will likely hit the undercarge of the car

uhaul vehicle trailer if you have a truck to tow it. That's how we got my car from PA. Cost $79. Just might be a tad hard to get it up on the trailer with no motor.
all the tires are dryrotted, its been sitting forever. Tow dolley isn't happening. Maybe I can rent a flat bead? Idk, I will prolly just pay AAA. Thanks though.

I hope you realise that means a $780 towing bill when you can just buy a couple new tyres and rent a tow dolly for a buttload less

Well depending on the membership she has, It can be way less. either way i dont want a tow dolley. I can ask a friend for a trailer just trying to avoid it, due to hassle on his part.

I wouldnt reccomend a tow dolly. I used one to get from my girl friends house to my house which is around 10 miles and it was a pain in the *@#. If your car is lowered at all, you have to make sure you have enough clearance. I had no motor/ehaust or anything so i cleared it but not by much. If your taking it 200 miles and you hit a nice bump or drop off on the highway or back road, ur back will definitly bottom out= scraped bumper.
Good luck gettting the car up on that dolly with no motor either, took 3 guys with a running start to get it up on the dolly, and my inner fender liners snapped right off when they hit the dolly because it was too low. To save some headaches i would just rent a uhaul car trailor if you had a truck to pull it with.
