Default Compression >> HP

About how much power is made if you're to get...say ~285psi on a WOT compression test?
Just curious....i know i know...what else is done?
doesnt matter, just wondering what people have seen with similar compression numbers...

what else are the mods? how is anyone supposed to give a somewhat educated answer with the only info being what compression you have in your cylinders.

Oh ****, the cats outta the bag...

If you want to make 220 WHP out of your 1.8, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS MAKE SURE YOUR COMPRESSION IS 285 ACROSS THE BOARD. Doesn't matter what head you have, what cams...intake, nothing. Hell you can have a stock LS head but as long as you're 285, you'll make 220 to THE GROUND!

Damn.. thats so sick.. i'm gonna try to get 315psi y0.

No really.. why are you asking about how much power people make w/ 285psi on compression test... it has no relevance to each other if the mods aren't stated.....

Now if you were asking... if I have 11.5CR ratio w/ my gsr motor... what would be the best cam suited for my motor.. to be most efficient.......... then thats a different story.

What are you trying to figure out?

......when are people going to learn that no one on this site has a crystal ball as to how much their build will make. If you want to know, for the billionth time, GET IT TUNED AND GO TO A DYNO AND FIND OUT. Compression numbers mean nothing...why? go try another gauge and do a compression test, when you see the new numbers are possibly higher or lower than the previous gauge, does that now mean your engine will make more or less power now? Try it on different dynos and see what happens...different numbers again. What about using different tuners? one guy can get your engine to make xxx power, another tuner might be able to get it to make yyy power. Do you see where I'm going with this?

just cuz an engine pulls a certain compression doesn't mean its going to make a certain whp.

But if you really want to hear some numbers my engine pulls around 280psi and i hit 200whp on a very hot day.

Are joo happy now?

I know this info will be a suprise to H-T posters BUT a compression test tells you about your small(primary) cam lobes, not VTEC lobes. Huh, how does that work? Best compression B16 automatic cams, they should make 270 WHP with those numbers. Actually just advance the IN cam and retard the EX cam and your compression numbers will be better, or tighten the IN clearance and losen the EX. Put a potato in the end of your EX pipe and static compression will go up.
