B18a1 Rebuild Question ~
Hey HT! I searched around and really couldn't find much for my question! I got an old 1993 3dr LS integra off my buddy for basically nothing, and I've always wanted a DA more than anything, so I have some serious plans ahead. The engine itself has about 220,000km, and the clutch is completely blown, probably needs a new tranny as well. Keep in mind that I am not familiar with many terms and I am kinda new to this whole thing. Now after some research I've decided to stay away from a swap and and stay away from vtec completely (preference), and I've decided to do a complete rebuild, and go boost in the near future. Now here is my question, when i bring my motor to a machine/motor shop, what should I be asking for, for a reliable DD that can be boosted in the future? Should I get a bore so I can run bigger pistons for higher compression? or keep it low and go safe. Should I replace all parts back to OEM or do some aftermarket so there will be no strain on the motor when it is boosted?
