i have a 99 civic ex (ej8)
and i want to buy a front lip,
but i dont know which one to put on
Mugen front lip or the type r front lip
please help!

first of all, welcome to HT.

Dont buy any replica mugen or type r front lips, stick with oem. Try searching for a used OEM Si/CTR front lip, or buy a new si lip from the dealer.

 

Or he could look around at other EK style cars with lips, and make his own decision

 

i like the OEM front lips as well but if i had to pick between the two i would pick the type r

 

which one do you like better? who cares what everyone else thinks

 

IMO CTR lips look better on 96-98 civics, while Si lips look better on 99-00 civics

there are some good quality replica's out there, i bought a prelude one, cut it up, bent it, and made it fit my CL

made in Taiwan

 

oh and it still hasnt cracked or anything, and i scrape that bitch almost everyday

I'm confused by what you're saying.

There is the Type R lip for the '96-'98 front end.


Then there is the Type R lip for the '99-'00 front.


Which is the same as the Si lip for the '99-'00 front (which is also the same as the OE Optional '99-'00 front lip).

very good advice. Your car should be built for yourself not anyone else. Get the lip YOU want period.

Here are pics of the CF lips I had on my cars... I thought they both looked good. The Integra is a little aggressive though...
