93 Accord LX 5mt Radiator Cooling System Help
hey everyone I need some help again
Help me out with whatever you can.....Any advice, input, and your experience is welcome!
So my radiator recently started to act up....Recently replaced all the hoses both Sensors and a new thermostat!
I recently did a full flush and bleed the system till it stopped bubbling at the radiator and at the bleeding screw!
So a week after the reservoir started to leak from the hose at the radiator.....replaced the hose and clamps......it stopped leaking trough there and it started to leak at the cap.......so I'm going to finish fixing the the system this weekend!
Getting a new cap and radiator.....the car does not have an original cap or radiator?
I cannot read anything on the cap......Whats a good cap to buy? how many lbs?what brand?
what about the radiator? Should I get a Koyo?or the original from honda?
I have a heavy foot and run it fast on the streets!
I system keeps the car pretty cool but I want to keep it a tad cooler!
You guys think I should upgrade the sensor?
http://jdmultimate.com/mishimo....aspx
Says the fan turns on 15 degrees lower then the OEM......think its a good idea to upgrade?
sorry to bombard everyone with a million questions!
even if you can only answer 1 question please hit me up!
thanks everyone!

if you have a stock car the only thing turning the car on 15 degrees cooler is going to do is burn more gas from the car over cooling itself...and again if stock just got with the OEM radiator and cap honda can tell you which ones to use
ok I thought something like that
Its cool about the sensor I wont replace that!
You think I should go OEM genuine from honda?
Someone told me that if I buy a cap with more lbs the system would stay cooler that's why I was asking!
also told me the original radiator was made of plastic......I wanted something without plastic like the koyo one!
but I dont have any experience with aftermarket !
let me know I will jump on it today....tired of seeing a pee puddle under my car!
thanks in advance everyone!

Any help anybody know anything about that?
I will be finishing this job later today......anybody?
Should I buy the Genuine?or aftermarket since I'm replacing it?
I just don't like the idea of having plastic on the radiator....would I be ok with a Koyo ?or what would be a good one to replace it with?
I have 3 mods intake headers and exhaust I drive hard with a heavy foot just looking to have a more efficient cooling system!
I'm gonna buy the cap from the dealer!

Just saw this post. MIght be too late for my input but here goes anyway:
Putting the wrong stat in might cause your gas mileage to go up, btu that is more dependent on the time of year. If you also want good gas mileage the way to do it like this: Put a cool stat in for the summer hot months and your gas mileage will be better than with a higher temp stat. In the winter, you want a hotter running stat for better mileage. So, if you were to put a hotter stat in your car in the summer, or a cooler one in it in the winter, THAT would not be a good idea.
[Side Note: I'm still trying to find out if the Japs messed up the jap to english translation for the OE stat spec, so I know which is really OE, 180 or 194. Logically 180 makes more sense, at least with the limited information that Honda shares]
As for a rad, Koyo's come with caps. I think their caps are lousy. But the rads are designed by Jap engineers and the employees are brought into Japan for training. Koyo is making rads for Denso. Dont know anything about the all aluminum Koyo's but the plastic tanks are quality Nylon Resin tanks. The cheaper plastic tanks, like the Spectra from Pep Boys are made from PET or HDPE plastic. Visteon is also a quality plastic rad is made from the nylon resin too. If you get a Koyo, get a stant cap or an OE Denso cap from Honda. That is what the Koyo will need. Those particular Denso style caps are mostly the same. The design of the Denso style looks almost identical among the various brands. But some are copycats that are cheap and blow apart quickly.

when you buy a oem radiator it will come with a new cap. Don't create problems for your self with other afterkarket rad cap's

I went with the OEM radiator and OEM cap!
I got one more question! Under the thermostat housing theres a ground cable all flimsy......I recently did a DIY grounding.....should I replace the old flimsy wire with 8 ga ground wire ?
I'm asking cause I know its related to the fan Temp Sensor!
