Default I'm in over my head (EJ2 - d15 - d16y7 - d16z6)

I'll try to make this as to the point as possible. I just pulled an automatic d15 out of my '93 civic because the motor was on it's last leg. My friend gave me another d15 with a manual trans that he aquired for free. The motor failed a leak down test with only 1 out of 4 right answers. I can get a d16y7 (no trans) for $100 BUT obd1 car vs. obd2 motor. So...

1. Will the d15 trans fit the d16y7?
2. Can the d16y7 be converted to an ob1 without spending the extra $70-$120 on the conversion harness (I'm a full-time student with a part-time job)
3. Look for a deal on something else and remain car-less for the time being.

1. pretty sure the transmission will bolt up
2. the motor can be converted to obd1.. just hook up the sensors that have plugs
(compare with the old d15.. swap what you need to)
3. fix what you have now..

yes the engine will bolt up to your transmission, yes you can convert the engine, reuse your old intake and exhaust manifold as well as the distributor, alternator fuel rail and injectors.
