CEL Code 17 is the VSS - Vehicle speed sensor
If your speedometer and/or odometer still work, try resetting the ECU.
If they do not work, replace the sensor.

hey was your car sputtering also. my prelude is throwing up the same code. it runs fine cold then when it heats up the ecu throws that code and it feels like its running off 2 cylinders. did you fix it yet? did replacing it fix the problem? i was going to replace it but the cheapest vss i could find was like 250.00. let me know man

still trying to troubleshoot this...my speedo/odom is working fine. i am also throwing an egr code (w/ dropping idle issue). ecu resetted already...still don't know whats up. probably get around to fixing this in a month or so.

i got Code 17 this morning too.. all my RPM/SPEED works fine
