Default Event Threads: How do you want this information?

As you may or may not have noticed, the RR/AX forum has quite a few threads listing DE or race events. Obviously, this is a benefit for the members here and I want to keep an open flow of information (available events, event discussion, pics, etc). At the same time seeing every other thread as an event press release can drown out the tech and community socialization we've all come to enjoy. The IMs I receive attest to this but I want to be sensitive to the steady uninterrupted flow of valuable information track day organizers provide.

So, I have a couple questions. How do you want this information? Does the present system of event threads work well enough or you would you like this info centralized in a calendar or sticky of some sort? Ain't broke, don't fix it?

Let me know what you think. All you guys IMing me about event threads should reply here. Vendors and track day attendees are encouraged to respond as well.

Track days, track events, autocrosses, and vendor meets(as in specialized vendors for the RR/AX community) are cool...but things like car shows, as in the Nopi Advertisement just don't fit in with what this forum is...Road Race/Autocross.

I would love to see a calender created where sponsors/ event hosts can post there events on a calender and with the click on the date/ event find all usefull/needed information to attend that event.

...And http://www.trackschedule.com

Leave it as-is. I think one thread that would require browsing through X number of pages to read about one event would suck, especially for searching. As mentioned, there's not a lot going on here, anyway...

Events seem to be the main purpose of this forum.

sounds good to me, If half the threads are about new events, thats a good thing, more places to drive

Is there a way to just add a sub forum within this section for any and all events purtaining to just this section that anyone can add to and post as they wish?. if so that would be nice to have. if not carry on with the current way.

Ehh, don't know about that. The tech may be not at the level you need (which you could always ask a question about) or are an expert on but there are quite a bit of threads of a technical nature.

I tend to agree. You guys who IM'd me should say something now or forever hold your peace.

Thanks for the response thus far, gentlemen.
