h series good for auto x ?
The H series in an EG will have nice torque, but its heavy. Not the best swap for auto-x, but I doubt you'd be asking if you weren't planning to do it anyway...
I dont know much, but dont H22 swaps have issues with the tranny and axles and such? like even if you go H2B you still have problems with the axles?
if thats the case, then i can't imagine it being a good thing to autox/race at all.

The whole point of an H2B swap is to use a b-series tranny so you don't have axle or shift linkage issues. You don't need a hybrid axle. Just a standard b-series axle will work. And you don't have to cut any holes in your floor to fit the H-series shifter cables.
In terms of weight differences, it's not as large as people make it out to be. In this thread (https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=684550) somebody weighed the different H and B pieces. There's a 19 lb difference between an H and B short block. So there's probably a sub 25 lb difference between an H and B long block.

There's a big difference in gearbox weight. Obviously, its not an issue with H2B, but you gotta ask yourself why someone is considering an H-swap in an EG in the first place. If "best bang for the buck" is the thinking, I doubt H2B is part of the plan...

According to the thread I referenced, there's a 6 lb difference between the H & B tranny.

I couldn't agree more with that.

I have an H22 Eg that I auto-x. I have mixed feelings about it. Its a fun car, but its a DD street car. You can be just as fast with a stock engine and more experience. If I could build another car I would prob stick with a B/D series.

I didn't read all of that thread, but I sure do know that a complete H series (with tranny) is indeed heavier than a complete B-series...and by a noticable difference. I had the 'pleasure' of trying to pick one of each up and move them around. Oh yeah, it's certainly more than 25 lbs.
As for a complete D-series...heck, one strong guy could almost move one himself.
The first page of that thread is weights without a head, intake manifold, etc.
75lbs will make a difference when perched over top your front wheels. And no, you can't correctly compensate with spring rates. Weight is weight, period.

<<strong GUY lifting Dseries FTW! I love their lightness.
and I couldn't agree more with the weight over front tires. if main purpose is to auto-x the D series is best power/weight/price(free-<300$) plus the D is over 100lb's lighter then the H series. and u get better gas mileage haha
. But I would still choose a B20vtec w/b16 trans for ultimate auto-x engine.
