how to get about 20-30 more whp out of non-boosted F22b2
hey fellas i've had my 95 lx for about 2 years now and have close to 300K on the f22B. I must say that i am impressed with the strength and pull of this engine for its age. all i had to do to it recently was a head gasket job and the only performance mod is an ebay intake and i still walk cars like 06 camrys up to about 3rd gear or so. Since there is that many miles on it and being that its my daily driver i would rather not go turbo to kill the block faster and i would only need about 20-30 more whp to be comfortable with the power. With that being said what performance mods could give me that much more power without a loud exhaust(intake noise is enough) and doing any major internal work.
please excuse my noobiness and thanks in advance for the responses

Order a level 2 cam from Bisimoto.com, along with new valve springs and an adjustable cam gear. Have a machine shop mill your head .030". Install a chipped ECU and have it professionally tuned on a dyno. That's your "cheap" route to ~30whp all motor.
It is so simple to gain 30whp without nitrous:
Bisimoto Level 2 camshaft ($349 in Vtec and $229 in Nonvtec)
Bisimoto Camgear ($135)
Tuning
Intake
Header
Exhaust.
A dyno of the cam mods vs stock, Vtec:

Bisimoto Level 2 Street Cam on a 1992 F22A non-vtec, with I/H/E, untuned:

BTW, 153.8whp is equivalent to 176+ crank HP.

Spelled it out for you right there.

Not so difficult. I made 169hp at the wheels with a motor rated at 150 crank hp while still using the stock exhaust and a $40 eBay header.

This dyno (f22a) will be similar to the gains expected from f22b1? Because that is what OP will be running in his 95lx. I thought that the heads exhibited quite different flow characteristics and therefore vastly different gains from similar mods.
