96 Integra LS starts up then cuts off after letting go of key
Did a couple of searches for this problem. Changed out the Main Relay switch, the distributor cap and the rotor button. I try to start the car and it starts but as soon as I let go of the key, it dies.
One possible solution said to listen for the clicks of the Main relay. Well, b4 I changed the main relay switch, i didn't hear any clicks and now even after I changed the main relay switch, I still don't hear any clicks.
If I hold the key in the start position, it stays running. Once I let go, the car dies.
Help. Already spent over $100.00 and no solution yet.
Anyone else have any ideas?
Thanks,
kintaro

something may just be loose.this happened to me recently,it was a loose plug from the ignition switch.these are located underdash one in the fuse box the other next to it..good luck
Did you change the clock spring yourself? If so, do you have a write up? If not, how much did it cost to fix?
I really need a write up to do it myself. I would have to get it towed if someone else does it.
I ask about this because someone came by yesterday and took a look at it and said the same thing. That it is the spring.
But thanks for everyone else's input.
Thanks,

just had this same problem last week, when u go to start ur car. right after it fires up slowly let ur key come back and it should stay running. this means ur ignition switch is out, u can buy them from partsgeek.com for $46 after shipping. there not hard at all to replace.
