Default Oil decision

im gonna be tracking my car for the first time in a week. i was running down my checklist and realized that i have no idea what to do about my oil. the car has had nonsythetic oil for all 104,xxx miles. the engine is pretty stock, so should i just stay with the nonsynth or should i switch to a synthetic race oil. any help is appreciated.

As long as the oil is reasonably fresh, you could just stick with what's already in there. If you're changing it, it's your choice; you could switch to synthetic if you want the extra protection, but conventional ought to be fine too.

Either way, make sure you check the oil level before each session. Some cars consume a fair amount of oil with the high revs used on the track, even when they don't use much on the street.
