is there any diff in the hydro tranny mount and the cable mount other then the mounting plate which is obvious .I got the efb2 kit for my swap ,but now after being told the hydro trannys were easier to find and around the same price and being told that they are 800 for just an LS hydro tranny and i can get a LS cable for $250 ,I'd much rather just go cable and invest in a clutch and flywheel like i intended on

is this price crazy or is this normal ?

800 for a ls hydro is way too much where iam from. i usually see them go for 350-400 where iam from

 

there is a difference in the hasport EF b-series transmission mounts

the hydraulic mount only works with hydraulic transmissions
the cable mount only works with cable transmissions

if the car did not come with a hydro tranny, you also need to get a conversion kit from hasport or innovative that will run you more than $300. stick with the cable tranny. you'll spend less in the end.

 

the cable and hydro mounts are different, you can buy the mount separately from hasport. You should be able to find a ls box for 350 or under, and a gsr/b16 for around 500

 

hmmm i guess i'll have to order the mount then . I have the cable to hydro conversion kit.

if you want a cable tranny you need the efb1 mount kit.

but really i say try to find a better deal on a hydro tranny since you already have the efb2 kit.

 

$800 is crazy high whoever told you that is crazy. K mounts are only $750 list, and can be had for way cheaper.

 

Yeah hydro trannies go for around 550-650 in NC man if you can get one for 500 I'd say go for it and keep the Hydro kit. They last Waaaaaayyyyyy longer than cable trannies stock to stock. If you go cable you need an LSD if you're going to abuse it at all. I can't tell you how many stock cable tranny differentials I've blowed out onto the ground. I have yet to blow out a hydro tranny.

the other 2 mounts are the same and the cable trans mount can be purchased seperately
