SUPER NOOB to the EF's
I'm not very familiar with the EF's at all
, my buddy bought this car EF Si and someone threw a D16Z6 in there. They're not running the vtec at all, it has the stock computer and the car is turbo. My question is if I get the OBD0 to OBD1 conversion will that make a difference or should I leave it like that.
I searched on here, there are no good answers. Who are EF gods on here, I have some ?'s.
Can you use a Vtec controller with even though the car is not wired for VTEC?
IF YOU GUYS GIVE ME LINKS, PLEASE GIVE ME SOME GOOD 1's

You can use a Vtec controller without being OBD1. You can also use a RPM Activated switch to engage vtec.. Most people will tell you to go OBD1 and run vtec the way it should be run with a vtec ecu. But for the price you buy a vtec controller 20-40$ more will get you the OBD0-OBD1 w/ Vtec conversion harness.
I was thinking of heading with the conversion, but I hate wiring. Thats why I only worked on EG's and EK's, I love simplicity, THANK YOU BABY JESUS.

I just finished the z6 mini-me swap and I did the obd0-obd1 conversion. I have the obd1 dizzy and a p28. I almost did no wiring. I had to solder fives wires. That was wires for the 4wire o2 sensor, the wire on the vtec solenoid. I then ran two wires to an old toggle switch on the dash I has for fogs. The toggle switch is supposed to allowed the check engine light to flash the ecu codes when a code is thrown. I also had to wire the vtec oil pressure switch (one to harness and one to ground). So overall, I had to deal with eight wires... Get the conversion harness for the ecu. I had absolutely NO WIRING for the distributor. I bought from phearable.net. Got the dizzy harness and ecu harness. Comes with instructions for wiring. Quite simple.
