b18b1 crank pulley
I have a 95 teg b18b1 in my 91 civic hatch. The crank pulley on the engine has a decent chunk missing from the outer lip and also it hits the radius rod at certain angles.
I was wondering if I could just cut the pulley in half and leave the alternator belt valley and the one beside it as they are level. I would just remove the other outer portion flush. This would be helpful as it wouldn't rub the radius rod anymore and I am only running an alternator, no PS or ac.
I have searched and although the b18 doesnt have a harmonic balancer, some people mentioned that altering the weight on either side of the crank will cause lots of vibration and may prematurely cause my main bearings to fail...can anyone give me some input on whats the best route, thanks.

i did the same thing to mine, but you are going to have it turned on a lathe to maintain balance and symmetry....I did mine on a brake lathe, but if you dont have acces to have just take it to a machine shop....just make sure you dont cut into the rubber dampener
