The biggest BBK I can find for an EG is the one from Brembo (http://www.buybrakes.com/store/112-6005A) its a 328x28 which is decent and I can fit it under 17" wheels (I dont want to go bigger than 17").
Is there anything bigger? I did a search and can find other 'oem' type conversions which use the Acura RL (12.6") and such, but I dont trust all that drilling and its smaller than the Brembo kit. I also dont have the option of Acura's where Im from, so that on its own is a reason to not go with that.

Well, you get some people that think that a BBK is overkill, but I cant understand how stoping faster is overkill. It can be a life saver really
Anyway, having said that - its currently a JDM K20A with some minor mods - next year I will be going turbo so looking at about 350 whp.
As it is, I dont feel it stops well enough. I have front and rear disc setup with both front and rear rotors upgraded - stock calipers though.

Some people may say, "if you can lock-up the tires than your breaks are good enough." I disagree with them. I think that if you want better grip, try upgrading your pads to some Hawk ceramics. I ran those on my 94 EG and it worked great! Also if you are going to be doing some competitive racing where there will be a lot of heat buildup than I think that is a good time to upgrade to one of those big break kits as they dissipate the heat better. Also, of course with the bigger surface area of the rotors, pads, and possibly, depending on which kit, multiple pistons per caliper you get better more evenly applied pressure. Yes this will lower the amount of time it takes to stop, but again, unless your racing competitively I don't feel it warrants the cost. Your OEM brake system upgrade will work fine.
big break kits are the biggest waste of money imo. i mean there are cars in honda challenge running dx calipers and drums in the rear. all you need is to purchase is some rad pads, blank rotors, rubber brake hose, good brake fluid, and you need to learn better brake modulation.

Well I do have better rotors, also - my pads are Hawks
Dont get me wrong, braking did improve a lot - but I still dont feel its sufficient.
Currently my 'weakest link' are my tires, but they will get changed soon.
Anyway, we are drifting off topic here with BBK vs OEM philosophy, etc etc. I want a BBK, period
I just want to know whats the biggest BBK kit that I can get that will fit under a 17".

Any brake form any car will fit on as long as the bolt pattern is the same and all u need to do is get a braket machined to fit the calipers an make sure they fit in your tires of course

Brembo is 12.9 inch. Thats pretty big for a Civic. Also very expensive. You need to worry about fluid presure before brake size. A bigger MC and high temp fluid with steel lines will make your brakes better. You cant brake more than your tire can grip. Get some good tires and make sure the rest of your brake system is good before you get a bbk.
if you put 17's or larger inch wheels on, thats going to hurt your braking performance durmatically. also is going to make you slower all the way around. a car that weights less then 2600 lbs doesnt need brakes designed to stop a semi. to big of brakes will add more unsprung mass along with the f'n heavy wheels to clear the brakes. i was reading about a hatch who was beating viper srt-10's and such on a track and hes only running 11.8 willwoods up front and 11.4 in the rear.
Better pads and stickier tires will make you stop faster. Larger brakes will last longer before they start to fade, but won't necessarily make you stop faster.
Reducing unsprung weight, using high temp fluid, and installing brake ducts will also help your brakes last a long time before they start fading.

I second that. If your saying it doesn't "feel" sufficient, then definitely get new tires first.
