Default Keeping A/c in Ef with a B series swap.

So I found a couple threads but nothing that helps me with the DIY bracket.

I heard about a hcp bracket. But all the links I found are bad to their site. I see talk about a hasport one, and somone mentioned the p54 bracket but thats for the eg.

So what can I use to keep a/c in my sedan when I do my swap.

the b-series ac bracket wont fit? your talking about the compressor bracket right?

do you have half-radiator or full?

the problem is with the radiator. since the b series motors are bigger than the d's, there isnt that much clearance for an ac compressor.

ask around and you'll find out people that have ac in a swapped out car have a half radiator. if you get a half or maybe even a slim,(full size but slimmer) then you should be good with the stock ac bracket for whatever motor your putting in.

i know innovative makes one that will let you retain your complete stock ac setup. ive also heard of ppl using their stock bracket and only using one bolt to hold it on. and ive heard ppl modifing b series motor ac brackets to work.

Anyone else? From what I have heard and read the problem is the crossmember...

Any other feedback for those that have this setup?

I was thinking about doing the same thing and addding AC to my B18. I was looking at the P54 Del Sol bracket and saw that the B20 bracket also supports a D series AC compressor an dis about half the price.

I used the innovative one and it worked fine. Just make sure you change all your o rings if you are converting to r134 and replace the drier.

i used an ls bracket and made an adapter so i could use my stock compressor. but i had to get an aftermarket crossmember to clear the compressor and get a little longer belt. the fan shroud makes it an absolute bitch to get the hoses on too. hope this helps.

Any pics?

Anyone with a way to do this without removing the crossmember? Or getting a new radiator!

i am looking at a/c for my b16. i believe the cross member clearance is the big issue. is that why the b20 bracket only works on the eg??

actually I'm using the stock condenser with the oem crossmember. I'm using the stock d series a/c compressor with a b series bracket. I cut off the arm for the torque mount, cut a couple pieces of plate steel and welded them to the bracket, then tapped holes in them.

and here is a more detailed writeup of how to do it, although I didnt know about this link until after I did mine.

in my ef the stock b18 bracket worked... but the AC lines would have had to been custom made because of the header i have so i just took the AC out completely
