Default Rear Suspension

I have an 05 Ex 4 door. I put 18" rims on it, wasn't trying to go over the top with that. My problem is that the rear tires hit/ rub on the car. I know that 18" is big but when I'm parked the front of the car has several inches of clearance and the rear in all down in the wheel well. It has gotten so bad that I can't have any passengers in my car or anything in my truck. Like the car looks as if it was lowered in the rear and raised in the front. It looks stupid and just can't really drive with people. Do they make new springs to raise a car? I want sumthing to raise it up. Maybe if I raise the rear it will level with the front. I was looking at this on ebay.

I know it may sound stupid but someone has to ask. You don't have a ton of crap in the car or subwoofer boxes right?

I do have a subwoofer box, but even before I put the box, I had problems and my car just wasn't sittin level anymore. Other then that, trunks empty. Just 1 person in the backseat and the wheel just drags on the car. I gotta post a picture on the front to back spaces or at least measure the difference.

are you the original owner on the accord? how sure are you that a previous owner did not ghetto the rear suspension by cutting coils out of the springs? get up under there and take a look to make sure everything is seated correctly and also see how much coil bind/collapsed spring there actually is

No, I am not the original owner of the car. Pretty sure when I bought it nothing was touched. I was looking at the spring and it seems like the rear spring coils are very spread far apart and that there is like 5 or 6 coils while the front spring seems more tightly together and has like an extra coil or two. I have like 3 to 4 in of clearance in the front and like 1 to 2 in the back and when someones in the car maybe a 1/2 of rooms. Can't even fit ur finger between the car and the wheel. Considering the car has struts the link for the shocks on ebay might not solve my problem. But if I got rear springs do they comes off of the shock or is it one main piece in the rear. Thanks so much Tommy

The shocks do not control ride height, the springs control ride height. the shocks control the springs. But to answer your question... the springs will come off the shock. you need to release the pressure slowly so as to NOT damage property or more importantly, injury yourself or someone else.

What do you suggest as a good spring. I have looked all over ebay and thetirerack.com and all everybody offers is lowering springs, nothing even to keep it the same height.

If you want OEM go with OEM. you can source one by looking on ebay or asking at auto yards. there are many online services for this if you do a quick search. Also in our for sale sectino you can make a listing for wanted items
