Default Re-building my stripped 97 GSR

So about a week ago my GSR got stolen and was stripped of its heart and soul and everything else...

Here's the before pics:

and here is the after:

What was taken? as you can see the motor/tranny, konig helium wheels, K-sport shocks, alpine stereo with amp, 10" sub with MTX amp, Crossfire speakers, Mugen shift ****, A/C, Personal Steering wheel, and obviously my doors.

They did leave my interior mostly intact with about 98% of everything still in useable condition.

My plans are to rebuild... this is my first car and its emotionally attached to me, strongly. I am 100% certain to get a JDM GSR engine, and i plan to keep it the same cypress green pearl color with a black interior that was waiting to be put in before it was stolen.

I've been thinking about it but i may or may not get a JDM front end. Not sure yet though. If i find a great set thats not very expensive then i will definitley go for it

Stay tunned!!!!!!!

good luck with your car, someday those thieves are gonna get caught and pay for everything they've done. They really have no shame. Just keep moving and dont look back. Your car will look just as good as it did, maybe even better. Now you can try a different setup, maybe different tires/exhaust/suspension.

for sure! thats what i've been thinking. I'm a very competetive person and i hate losing. If i would have given up the shell and just let it go to the junk then i see that as letting the theives win. One day they will get theirs, and i hope its damn good.

I am fully determined in what i want to do and nothing is holding me back. My parents are helping me out a lot so i owe it to them. I'm not only rebuilding this car for me, but also for everyone of my friends and family that grew to love the car in the five years i had it. This baby is gonna shine one day

well if you've got an extra cell phone laying around with CDMA or the E911 capability... you can hard wire it into the car for power and hide it up behind the dash or whatever and you're car can be traced by the police. I know a few people running this around here and a potential thief will never know it's in the car if you hide it well enough.

Saw your other thread... Glad you got the car back tho. I guess they didn't want any Tan interior huh?

I loved that color (CGP) when I had my DB8. Kudos for wanting to keep it CGP

this does not work at all unless you are maintaining a plan on the phone and it is one of the carriers that track their phones like verizon.

most companies dont bother to track their phones like at&t doesnt.

Never really like that color too much. But with the black interior it's gonna look great. You gotta do the leather though.

Not true, all cell phones are required by federal law to have 911 emergency access, whether they're on a plan or not. And it's not the phone company who tracks it via E911, it's the emergency responders. Has nothing to do with which carrier it's on.

so catfish and joon called me on sunday because they were at the junkyard. They found me a lot of stuff that i needed for the car, lots of interior parts also. We rapped the junkyard!

We bought doors (windows and electrical included), headliner, a-pillar covers, rear window covers, sunroof cover and many minor plastic items for the interior all for $180!!!
