ebay shifter vs skunk2
Anyone know what the difference between the Ebay short shifters and skunk2 (or insert your favorite brand here) one? It's not a very complex piece to design and/or manufacture. Is the skunk2 worth the extra $?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Got my TenzoR. for $60 and it's still good after a year and a half. As long as you are not trying to bang gears faster than your tranny can handle, an aluminum short shifter should be fine. If you want to pay for the brand name, it's up to you.
I have a no name shifter, Matrix maybe. Terrible quality, it broke shortly after getting it. The pivot ball is too small for the socket and there's play in it. I still had to get the ES bushing kit to get any kind of accuracy and even then, it's marginal at best. If the whole thing cost me any more than $30, I'd be irate.
Don't screw around, get the Skunk and the matching shift **** and happiness is virtually guarenteed.

I agree. I had a cheap no name brand (cough... well APC
) . Piece of **** broke. It was like and cheap as hell. I bought a heavy duty Skunk2 short shifter. MUCH better quality and it feels better too.
