Default k20a2 head on k20a3

If i do wind up getting an ep3, which is most likely, will the A2 head go onto an A3 block and will i find obvious power gains? other than swapping the actual heads will i need additional mods, ecu, tuning, etc?

yea man the ep3 comes with A3, and yes the A2 head will bolt right up, the only thing is that you will have to get an dc5, or ep3 type r ecu cause they dont have the immobilelizer in, i was thinkin of considering the swap myself but save the money and get a k24 with an A2 head or jus A head then run k pro and it would be sick and will be makin some power then, or jus boost the A3

Wooow. No. Dude, the hassle for getting this head on an A3...you might as well get a swap.

The a2 head on an a3 block could be a hassle. Just boost the a3 and you'll be happy.

Could you please elaborate on this?

What kind of hassle are we talking about exactly? I'm not too keen yet on the K series. It's not as labor intensive as a b series LS/Vtec is it?

and the price difference between a 4300-5500 engine and just a cylinder head seems to kinda help balance things out in favor of just a head swap.

The major reason an a2 swap is quicker is the higher compression and shorter transmission, not so much from real vtak.

hey man the one reason why it is a pain in the *** to do is because u have to take everything apart u have to take the intake manifold, and exhaust manifold off, disconect all the hoses, the wirning harness, and a bunch of other **** too,ur almost close to pullin the motor for all that work all u have left is like the shift linkage, motor mounts, that weird *** box the motor sits in (cant think of the real name for it), the axles and a few other things, for all that work u might as well save the money and get an a2 swap u have to change ur ecu anyways to run the real vtec in the a2 head

You mean the cradle?

ok so basically, becuase of basic installation issues and all it's worth spending 5 grand? I can understand not wanting to do all that work, but i do look at it as being a project. I dunno, I mean in all truth i eventually would like the 6 speed. unfortunately that means i'd have to wait quite a bit longer till i could afford to swap an entire engine as opposed to the head, ecu and other parts. But whatever.
