Do you know the length of the tubing?? Like the normal width from the ones you can buy online? Should I use something stronger like a bolt instead of the rubber?

the hood bolts are 10mm coarse thread and you can use 3/4 inch poly urethane washers from like a hardware store..

my b20vtec clears in my sedan. but i spaced it with the spacer/washer/bushing (all in one) from the **** that holds the intake boxto the chassis in the 90-91 civic/crx (its bigger/taller than the 88-89s) works fine clears fine. went to the junkyard and pulled a whole bunch of them. 2 on each side.

they are not 10mm. bolts are measured by the thread not the size wrench to put them on. they are a 6mm x 1.0 as stated earlier by me, by tubing I was referring to is some steel tubing. get a 1/2 steel pipe and cut each side to the desired height fine tune it with some washers. measure your old bolts. now just add the length of the piece you just cut to the length of the old bolt get the new bolt in the proper length, how hard is it geez
