cable zc transmission....
I just bought a cable zc tranny which came off the brown top zc... my question is... which axles do I need to run with this tranny?
Ive been told that I will need b series axles with the zc/b series half shaft and then Ive been told that I could use d series axles.
Ive searched and have posted about this topic before but have yet to get a straight answer... so please any and all info is greatly appreciated

Don't be fooled like I was - unless you find a ZC tranny already equipped with an LSD - you won't find one to fit the A6 housing (unless things have changed in the past year) - The spline count on the ZC is 2mm or so larger than the USDM version - which is one of the reasons why custom axles are a must have.</TD></TR></TABLE>

it might have been black top...
i picked it up from a1 japanese and the guy pointed to the motor up on the shelf that it came off. it was dual cam for sure. he gave me a half shaft along with it.

You dont need no custom axle, I return my autozone old 90-93 Integra axle non ABS and got 2 new parts off the life time warranty. My Dohc ZC transsmision is LSD and it comes with the ZC intermediate shalf, I put the 90-93 Integra axle in and they work. Not problem at all.
ok well just for the hell of it how do i tell while the tranny is out of the car.....
and i still have'nt gotten a striaght answer on the axles!

if you want to know if it has a lsd, just look through the hole the axles go in, if there is a bar through the center you have a regular open diff. and from what it seems integra axles work
i'll check later on the lsd...

I don't know if you went through Bone's posts and such on D-series.org, but the 88-91 differentials are notorious for having a weak differential pin.
I'm actually using a D16Z6 EX differential; same as the 92-95 Si.
That transmission is being pulled out though and stock CRX Si transmission going in; the DOHC ZC transmission is getting a 4.437 ZXi final drive along with OBX LSD and 3.083 first gear later on.

It was mentioned before, but make absolutely sure that you got a transmission that was mounted to a black top ZC. The brown-top version is not a bolt-up application to a black top block.
84-87 JDM CRX Si/Civic Si "browntop" DOHC ZC, 86-87 JDM Integra "browntop" DOHC ZC, 88-89 JDM Integra "blacktop" DOHC ZC all used the CG transmission same as in the 86-89 Integra D16A1 - has separate cover for 5th gear - uses same intermediate shaft as the 86-89 USDM Integra D16A1 - doesn't bolt right up to any other D-series blocks and has different mounts from 88-91 (picture below)
