CRX OEM Sway Question - 1988 box style LCA vs later 1989-1991 LCA - bolt up?
Hey, I got a quick question for you all (obviously).
I wrecked my last CRX, poor 1991 Celestial Blue Pearl. Hopefully it will be finding a new home where someone has the time and money to bolt back up the subframe. Gotta finish stripping my parts and then get it out there.
Anyway, I purchased a 1991 CRX Si and swapped the 88 lower control arms I had for my Koni/GC setup from the wrecked car to the new one yesterday. The 88 control arms have provisions for swaybar bolts BUT the nut appears to be welded on the first hole in between the LCA, instead of on the outside on the far side of the LCA like it bolts up to the trailing arm.
My question is, should I try using the stock 1991 sway bolts that are really lengthy for this or should I be finding something else at Home Depot?
Anyone run into this problem before?
Thanks in advance for your help!

the threaded hole for the swaybar should be at the same spot relative to the bushings. it should be no difference.
do you have them on the correct side, left right?

Put one through your sway bar link and see if the end of the bolt hits inside the lca. If you get it tight without touching your fine. If you do need shorter bolts, get grade 8 for anything suspension related, you dont want anything snapping.

Yeah, I believe I do, I sure as **** hope so because I don't really feel like switching them back
Pretty sure I do considering that the bolts are on the correct side of the LCA to hook up the sway. I'll check it out tomorrow evening when I've got a little time.
Thanks guys!

see, bolt holes are the same.</TD></TR></TABLE>
*scratching head*
My LCAs may be from an ITR - let me see if I can dig up a picture.

I'm feeling a bit tarded at the moment. Time to go outside and look.
