dim e brake light on all the time
i recently noticed that my brake light in my dash cluster is on all the time but it is dim and when i apply the ebrake fully it is 100% bright i have checked the switch that is on the ebrake handle is good i checked the brake master cylinder switch it is also good. I jacked the car up and the rear wheels spin freely. I am out of ideas to fix this please help.

I agree w/previously mentioned bad ground. Mine did this before, it was the ground from the frame by the radiator to the valve cover. Be sure to put a heavy duty wire on there. Also check other grounds and clean contacts. I put an extra ground or two on mine just to be sure.
another area to check is the back of the gauge cluster and clean the contacts of the wire harness connector and guage. take the bulb out too and clean it.
I'd check for a blown fuse. My 91 Full size Blazer did this exact same thing and it was a blown fuse. Use a good test light and check EVERY fuse under the hood and under the driver knee blocker.
theres a ground under the dash (ground wire in dash wire harness).. if you sit in your seat.. on the right of the steering column theres a ground there... (screwed upward)
are there any other lights next to it that are on all the time? if so there may be a crack that lets light go through...

I just had this problem. Checked the circuits from the brake fluid reservoir and the e-brake. Light stays on regardless of those circuits. Then I took out the instrument panel cluster first before moving on to the Integrated Control Unit circuit. Didn't find anything in the IPC, but when I put everything back together, the light went away and hasn't come back yet. Very weird. Looking at the circuit in the back of the IPC, seems like the grounds go straight to the chassis via screws that hold everything together. I can only take a guess that some part of the circuit was being grounded that shouldn't have. Hope this helps someone else. I'll report back if my light comes back on.
