Default Loose Shifter

The shifter is bolted in correctly, I've tried my best to adjust it to feel better but I believe something has worn out. The shifter is able to move side to side and front to back I plan to replace the shifter with a Short Shifter.

Which Parts do I need to replace?

On my 4th Gen, I took out the rubber bushings on the shifter plate and replaced them with 4 big washers on each of the 4 mounting points. The shifting is SOOO much precise and the feeling is better while shifting.

I'll give that a shot, any other suggestions/recommendations?

The shifter plate doesn't have any notable movement, it's the shifter itself that feels loose - Like I can move/wiggle it around without the cables actually shifting any.

the square joint could possibly be the culprit.

Planning to order parts # 18, 8, 9, and maybe 5? I'd hate to take apart the shifter to figure out what I'll need but it looks like that's going to be the case. I was hoping someone has already gone thru this process.
