CORRECT way to take off 02 sensor...

Default CORRECT way to take off 02 sensor...

i am installing a type one header with a carsound cat, and i wanted to know the correct way to take off the 02 sensor and to put back on.
the application is a 99 civic si.

I have a socket designed to take off O2 sensors. It's got a slit in the side to put the wire through.

Getting it unplugged was a bitch but that might have just been my car. The plugs were stuck solid.

You may want to coat the threads with some anti-seize as well

Bingo! With a little penatrating oil on the threads before hand, and the Anti-Seize afterwards!

I believe Bosch makes said socket. I know I've seen it in Volvo catalogs (assuming they are universal).

You can buy a lot of beer and a crecent wrench for the cost though

I think you mean 22mm. Me too. I don't like the O2 sockets


edit: 24.5mm is 1"
22mm is much bigger than 1/2"

Well, I just used a 1/2 but I forgot what was the metric version.
See my edit. 22mm is bigger than 1/2" Double check. I do use a 22mm for sure. I belive the standard size is 7/8"

Oh wait. Yeah I used 7/8 which was the largest one I had. I remember that 22mm is the correct size. x1278612983 on me
