unhook electrical connector, unscrew sensor.

screw sensor back in, reconnect electrical connector

so i unhook the electrical connector before the stock header is taken out...
then i take out the stock header with the sensor still in it...
so then i take out the 02 sensor from stock header then put it onto the type one...
then i intall header with the 02 sensor already on it ...
then i put the electrical connector back on after the header is intalled.

is this the right way?
thanks.

Yes, that will work...

Are you sure you're licensed to operate a wrench?

Use a 22mm open-end wrench. "Lefty Loosey...Righty Tighty"

whatever you do, dont break them, they are expensive, use a **** load of wd-40 before you think about using a breaker bar.

BTW, I broke the one in the cat, and i had to replace it. I used a $60 universal one, it works fine, so if oyu do happen to break your downstream 02 sensor, im me and i will tell you how to save $240 by buying a unversal and crimping some wires.

thanks alot. well i just did the install last night, everything went smoothly exept for the placement of the bung hole on the carsound cat... it is really close to the stabalizer bar near the shift linkage im hoping that it will not get damaged, but so far so good with the 02 sensors.

but... i started hearing a rattling sound and i checked it out, it was not the cat it is one of the springs. i haven't tried anything yet, is there anything anyone can suggest?

Is it one of the springs around the bolt on the back of the cat??

If so, just torque it down some more, that happened to mine a while ago, i guess it came loose just by being used for 5 years. I dunno, just try tightening it some more, and if that doesn't work, no harm done.

Good Luck!!

Why in the world did you have to bring this pointless 3 month old thread back just to quote "bung hole". Whatever happened to doing something productive with your time rather than going through 50 pages of HT history
