hrmm... drive to LA... load car on transport ship, go to Tokyo, and stay there. :D

 

Try an Asian travel agent - my roundtrip tickets (sardine class of course) from ATL to Hong Kong (via Tokyo) on JAL cost around $1000; Northwest or United would probably be cheaper.

Hotels around Makuhari, check the Green Tower first - it should be around USD50-60 a night.

i'd keep trying until the target date, even the night before. january is a off-peak season so they will have open room on the plane. you can probably get away for 300 dollars roundtrip

 

thats funny i was thinking the same thing today...realistically i prolly couldn't go but damn wouldn't it be cool.

If you stay close to the Auto Salon you will be far from the night life. If you want to party you should try to stay close to the Yamanote train line because you can get to Shinjuku, Harajuku, Ebisu, Ginza, Tokyo, Ikebukuro, Ueno and all the othe places with ease. Roppongi is one stop from Ebisu on the Hibiya line.

Dave.. me, you, BigHEAD Shane, Leo and Mirai need to get together for a H-T Tokyo meet.

Shane.. where are you gonna stay? If I can get clearance I'm gonna try to get Leo a room at the hotel with me and RX-7 guys. It's a dump but it only take 5 minutes to stumble back to the hotel from Roppongi.

 

With my Prince Club discount, probably Shinjuku Prince or New Takanawa Prince; New Sanno a bit too ghetto for me

 

Not the New Sanno... we are staying at a different "hole in the wall" joint! I can afford to pay $200~$300 a night but why waste my partying loot on a hotel when I'm only gonna sleep and shower there!!
