Default ::HELP::engine wont start and back firing

i was cruising along the interstate at 65mph and my car started cutting out and back firing. i turned the car off and coasted down and pulled to the shoulder where i tried starting the car again. it would start and idle(for a few seconds) fine but when i tried to rev it up it would start back firing out of the exhaust something serious! needless to say i towed the car, i checked the ecu for codes and it was a o2 sensor. i replaced that along with wires and plugs, tried to start the car it simply back fires and thats it, will not start.... anyone have any ideas??? its now throwing a ECT sensor code, Intake temp sensor code, and a Baro sensor/atmospheric pressure code???? im completely lost here.....

i would imagine your distributor gave way...unless the belt jumped a tooth or 2 on the cam gear/gears...you dont hear any tapping like a valve tap or anything right? i highly doubt you jumped timing so i would look into the dizzy and all its internal parts(coil ignitor, ect...)

Two years ago same thing happen to me. Came out to be my rotor somehow got really hot n kind of melted n f***ed my timing up. It would still start but if i gave it gas it a would backfire n die. Replaced the rotor n it started like new on the first crank. "I was like dam i glad it wasnt noting internal."

nice.. thanks for the comments, it is a sohc and the motor is the least of my worries (since im awaiting a b16) id just like to keep the car running for now.. i thought it could possibly be in the dizzy so i guess tomorrow i will plan a trip to get a rotor and see how that works.. i wondered if it was the belt jumped a little but i just couldnt see that happening........ well hopefully i can fix it soon......
