I need a new helmet and I have been looking into a shark RSI or a AGV Ti Tech. I called 12 dealers within 50 miles of my house and no one stocks AGV, and one place has some sharks (wouldnt tell if they had the RSI). And another place closer only had smalls and large sharks left on clearance.
I wear a medium KBC now, and it fits ok except the forhead is a little tight and the sides feel a little loose. I found the shark and AGV helmets at good prices and want to order online but dont know if I should order medium since I cant find anywhere to try them on.
Should I just order a medium since thats the size i wear now? Anyone have experience with the ti tech or rsi?

 

I loved my TiTech Industrial and used it exclusively... just remember they run small

I just bought an AGV Ti-tech Rossi edition from Rosedale Motorcycles in CA. This was over a month and a half ago and they were on clearance.

The AGV Ti-tech definately runs small. For persepective, I wear a large Icon Mainframe and ordered an XL AGV Ti-tech. The large icon I wore for a year and was getting to the point that it was a little loose. I've had the AGV for almost 2 months now and it has broken in to the point that it is perfectly comfortable all the time. It started out being extremely snug but tolerable and now it still fits tight but I could wear it all day everyday and not even care.

A word of warning about the AGV (this may sound weird) but if you have big ears that stick out from your head you are going to have some trouble with the Ti-tech. I personally don't have an issue with the helmet but my roommate tried it on and he has a smaller head than I do and it said that it folded his ears over and hurt.

Other than that, the AGV is a great helmet. It is a bit noisy but I chalk that one up to the fact that the ventilation on it is AMAZING!!!! Overall, the shell is a lot smaller than most helmets which also makes it very light in comparison to my Icon. Honestly, I would put the ti-tech on the same shelf as the rx-7. I may take some heat for that but honestly in my mind it is that good at half the price.

 

I have a Ti-tech Rossi rep and the fit is perfect for reference the new Ti-techs have molded ear pockets so your ears won't fold when putting the helmet on....heres a good site that does video reviews on helmets....http://sportbiketrackgear.com check it out!!!

 

so Rosedale motorcycles carry AGV Ti-Techs in stock? How much are they blowing them out for? I've been looking for the Ti-Tech Gothic, was going to pick one up from DennisKirk.com since they have them on clearance, but they're out of mediums, which is what I normally wear. AGV and Shark top of the line helmets definitely are up there with Arai and Shoei's best IMO
But hmm... I've tried the Shark RSR2 and I have problems with my ears folding since there seems to be no pocket for your ears... it seems AGVs have the same issue?

to the OP: I picked up my agv ti-tech rossi rep for 400 shipped to Kansas

 

I ride nothing but Shark helmets. They are awesome. Carbon Kevlar shell with plenty of padding. If you have the cash the RSR2 is an awesome helmet. The RSi is very good as well. They're all ECE rated which is better than Snell and DOt rating. I crash tested one, and it fully protected me and I had no headaches after. The visors take like 2 seconds to change too.

The only downside is some wind noise, but if you wear ear plugs it's not bad. Definetly read more into Shark helmets!


The other bad thing is some of them you have to get directly from Europe and could take a week or so. The one I just got had this problem.

Selling moto helmets got me through school and I would never wear a Shark for the simple fact that they are loud and not aerodynamic (not to mention god awful ugly). If you want something really safe and aerodynamic go with a Shoei X-11 or RF-1000 if you are short on coin. Carbon Kevlar construction as well, but also has an organic outer layer that only Shoei has rights to from a Japanese fishing net maker. Safety and piercing protection is second to none. Have had mine up to 170 or so (speedo read 180, so this is only an estimate) and I have never had any buffeting. It was butter the whole time. Of all the helmets I went through, this one is the best. AGV's are nice if they fit your head. They have an unusual "pointy" shape in the crown. But if an AGV fits you, go with that over a Shark. Much more aerodynamic and the company is easier to deal with if you ever have an issue. Just my pennies from 12 years of riding and 3 years of selling helmets in the industry.

How do they compare size and fit wise to an Scorpion? Either a 400, 700 or a 1000? Or to an Arai RX-7? I'm looking at getting a Shark (Either a RSi, RSR2 or RSX, depending on how much cash I have at the time), but since I have to order them online (No one carries them here in Venezuela), I would like to know if they would fit me well.

My head is too pointy / egg-shaped for Shoei lids. My AGV fits perfect though.

 

well I bought a shark rsi, got it in last week and tried it on. It was too loose on side to side fit. So I went to a dealer 45miles away and tried on a size smaller and it was still too loose side to side...tried on a smaller size yet and I couldn't even get it on my head. Then I tried on a shoei x-11 and it fit amazing, the rf1000 is too round for my oval head. The suomy I tried wouldn't come close to fitting me, and I finally settled on a Arai Profile as the best fit. So I sent back my shark today and waiting for my Arai to arrive
